TalentSphere Staffing Solutions is partnered with one of Canada’s leading building controls and HVAC solutions provider. They have been around for over 50+ years, with a primary focus on HVAC and combustion control products & Solutions. We are in search of their new Territory Sales/Business Development Manager who would be based in the lower mainland, and cover a BC & Alberta region. Primary work would be in the lower mainland.
Our client is seeking a driven and knowledgeable professional to join their team in driving growth within the building automation and control systems sector. This role involves generating new business, strengthening existing client relationships, and fostering sales growth through channel partnerships.
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in HVAC systems (or of a similar industry) and a deep understanding of the full sales cycle, enabling them to prospect new clients and nurture current accounts. An individual from an engineering background within HVAC/BAS who is interested in sales, may be considered for this position.
The role comes with a strong base salary, and a total compensation package in the $130,000-$140,000 range.

Key Responsibilities:
- Generate and pursue new business prospects within the building automation industry, targeting commercial, industrial, and institutional markets.
- Drive sales growth by maintaining and expanding relationships with key clients, including Mechanical Service Contractors, Control Contractors, Consultants, Property Managers, and End-Users.
- Gain an in-depth understanding of client requirements and collaborate to ensure their needs are met and exceeded.
- Collaborate with channel partners to offer HVAC BAS controls solutions.
- Prepare and present compelling business proposals and presentations to clients.
- Develop long-term relationships with mechanical and control contractors to boost service parts sales.
- Act as a trusted advisor for clients’ control projects, offering sales support and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively with customers, addressing concerns and providing solutions to improve future experiences.
- Promote the features and benefits of our products and services to enhance brand awareness and market presence.
- Work closely with the engineering team to ensure client project specifications are met.
- Create and deliver technical presentations and webinars to inform and engage clients.
- Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and other industry events to network and promote products.
- Stay informed about client status, future needs, and payment performance; share relevant information with internal teams as needed.
- Research market trends and competitor offerings to remain competitive and aligned with client demands.
- Demonstrate best practices in control systems and parts to enhance customer understanding.
- Track sales performance, submit status reports, and ensure progress toward sales targets.
- Develop and execute customer visit plans, schedule meetings, and set clear action steps for follow-up and goal achievement.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical education, with ideally 5+ years of proven experience in sales or marketing within the mechanical or electrical sectors.
- Expertise in building automation systems, HVAC, energy management, lighting controls, and related technologies.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build trust and rapport with clients.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software, along with other sales productivity tools.
- Experience in HVAC controls, facilities management, and peripheral equipment installation and service.
- Ability to travel to client sites as required, with a valid driver’s license.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills, with a clear understanding of the complete sales process.
