What You’ll Do:
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, designers, and drafters to deliver high-quality mechanical building services projects.
- Oversee and execute mechanical designs, ensuring compliance with municipal and provincial building codes.
- Review, stamp, and approve design documents and specifications.
- Conduct quality control checks and technical reviews.
- Develop and coordinate mechanical system layouts, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and specialized plumbing systems (e.g., medical gas, natural gas, fuel oil).
- Design mechanical rooms, including boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and air-handling units.
- Collaborate with structural, architectural, and electrical teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers for equipment selection and technical support.
- Participate in internal committees focused on engineering standards and specifications.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and responsibility, contributing to a culture of trust and autonomy.
What You Bring:
- 7+ years of experience in mechanical building services (retrofit experience preferred).
- P.Eng designation in Ontario is required.
- Strong leadership and mentorship skills.
- Expertise in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Knowledge of National and Ontario Building Codes and familiarity with ASHRAE, CSA, and ULC standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office applications.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-first mindset.
