Role:

As a Construction Project Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of our projects. You'll collaborate with a diverse team of professionals, from Project Managers, Superintendents, architects, and designers to contractors and clients. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring that projects are executed efficiently, on time, and within budget. Your work will directly impact the success of the project and the satisfaction of our clients, leaving you with a strong sense of accomplishment and pride. Here's a breakdown of the key responsibilities and tasks associated with the role.
 
  1. Submittals and RFI Management: The PE is responsible for organizing and coordinating the review of submittals (documents such as shop drawings, product data, and samples) and the Request for Information (RFI) process. This involves ensuring that project documents and materials meet the required standards and specifications.
 
  1. Assisting Project Managers: The PE assists the Project Manager and Senior Project Manager with various daily tasks. This support can include participating in meetings with the project owner, design teams, and project staff. These meetings help in discussing project progress, issues, and decisions that need to be made.
 
  1. Timely Approval of Construction Materials: The PE monitors the process with subcontractors and the design team to ensure that construction materials are approved in a timely manner. This is critical to keeping the project on schedule and within budget.
 
  1. Review of Materials Delivered: The PE is responsible for facilitating the review of materials delivered to the construction site. This involves checking that the materials match the approved specifications and meet quality standards.
 
  1. Interface with Superintendent: The PE collaborates with the project's Superintendent, who is responsible for on-site construction activities. The PE and Superintendent conduct field walks together to assess progress, identify any issues, and ensure that the construction process aligns with the project plans and design specifications.


What You’ll Need:

 
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in construction software and tools for project management, scheduling, and budgeting would be an asset.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address project challenges effectively.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to ensure project success.
