Electrical Estimator

Role: Electrical Estimator
Location: Mesquite, TX
Salary: $100k - $125k

A leading electrical contractor is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join their team. Prior estimating experience in electrical construction is preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities
:
  • Analyze blueprints and related documents to develop time, cost, material, and labor estimates.
  • Collect and apply historical cost data for future estimates.
  • Attend walk-throughs, pre-bid, and scope clarification meetings.
  • Consult with clients, vendors, project managers, and field teams to formulate estimates and resolve any scope or pricing issues.
  • Prepare detailed estimates for management use in planning and scheduling.
  • Review contract and bid documents; ensure a clear understanding of project scope for turnover.
  • Prepare proposals, scope letters, and quantitative take-offs.
  • Maintain vendor and subcontractor relationships and request/verify pricing.
  • Coordinate junior and staff-level resources to complete take-offs and procurement efforts.
  • Work closely with the engineering department and participate in value engineering discussions.
  • Review and evaluate subcontractor quotes to confirm accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure proper digital document organization and confidentiality.
  • Assist project managers with pricing changes and quantity take-offs during execution phases.
  • Escalate critical issues with recommended resolutions as needed.
  • Follow all company safety, operational, and compliance protocols.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in the electrical construction industry.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Strong knowledge of the construction industry, NEC code, and contract documentation.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal construction regulations.


Software & Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Experience with Accubid or other electrical estimating software preferred
  • Familiarity with project management, document control, and construction/financial software
