Join a leading national electrical contractor at the forefront of the data center and mission-critical sector. We're looking for a Preconstruction Manager to take ownership of preconstruction efforts for large-scale, complex electrical builds — especially hyperscale data centers.
This is a leadership position where you'll shape preconstruction strategy, guide teams, and play a key role in driving the success of complex electrical projects.
Based in Richmond, VA
– Relocation support available
– Option to work remotely with travel to Richmond 1–2 times per month
- Lead all preconstruction efforts for electrical scopes on major data center and mission-critical projects
- Oversee estimating, budgeting, and proposal development
- Collaborate with internal teams, owners, and design partners from concept to closeout
- Innovate solutions to ensure design, budget, and schedule alignment
- Mentor and lead a team of preconstruction professionals
- Build and nurture lasting relationships with clients
Candidates who meet these criteria will be prioritized for client submission.
- Experience working for an Electrical Contractor
- Estimating OR Preconstruction experience on data center projects
- Familiarity with hyperscale data centers is a major plus
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, project lifecycle, and preconstruction strategy
- Proficiency with tools like Bluebeam, Accubid, ConEst, or Procore
- 7+ years in electrical estimating or preconstruction
- Track record of leading complex mission-critical or data center projects
- Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills
- Strategic mindset with a passion for innovation and process improvement
- Ability to lead from both the field and the office — you understand how jobs get built
- Compensation: $150,000–$170,000+ (open to exceeding range for the right fit)
