We're seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator who’s ready to take the lead on complex data center bids and drive competitive, accurate, and strategic proposals. This is a standout opportunity with a top-tier electrical contractor focused on mission-critical infrastructure. Start remotely with 1–2 monthly visits to Richmond, VA, and relocate only when the time is right for you.
What You'll Be Doing
- Develop comprehensive cost estimates, from initial takeoff to final bid submission
- Evaluate and price change orders to maintain profitability and transparency
- Interpret blueprints and project specifications with expert precision
- Participate in pre-bid and scope review meetings to ensure bid accuracy
- Collaborate with vendors to negotiate material pricing and lead times
- Conduct site visits to assess labor, materials, and potential risks
- Identify and evaluate project risks, offering strategic mitigation plans
- Partner closely with internal teams—PMs, engineers, and leadership—to deliver winning proposals
- 3–5+ years of experience estimating electrical scopes for data center or mission-critical projects
- Solid knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and low voltage systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents
- Excellent math, analytical, and organizational skills
- Strong communication—verbal and written—for working with internal and external teams
- Calm and focused under pressure, especially with tight deadlines
- Experience using Accubid or ConEst estimating software
- Background in hands-on electrical construction for data center projects or mission-critical builds
- Remote flexibility to start, with only 1–2 site visits/month to Richmond, VA
