About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Architectural Designer to lead and oversee the creation of architectural drawings for a variety of projects. This role involves collaborating with clients to develop functional and aesthetically pleasing designs while ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and oversee the creation of architectural drawings, including foundation plans, floor plans, elevations, sections, details, and finishes.
- Develop drawings for different project phases, such as site plans, IFP sets, IFC sets, and shop drawings.
- Collaborate with clients to design efficient, code-compliant floor plans that align with their needs.
- Design visually appealing building elevations that reflect the client’s brand and meet regulatory requirements.
- Ensure designs adhere to zoning by-laws and navigate the site plan approval process.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, including SB-10 (Energy Efficiency Requirements) for ICI, pre-engineered, and residential buildings.
- Review and provide feedback on architectural drawings prepared by others.
- Integrate cost-effective and constructible solutions into designs.
- Maintain a strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (5+ years of experience required).
- Minimum 5 years of construction experience in pre-engineered buildings, residential, and ICI construction.
- Strong familiarity with zoning by-laws, site plan approval processes, and building codes.
