The Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Lead Architect to manage projects and mentor a talented team of designers and technologists. This role is ideal for an architect with strong leadership skills and a passion for both design excellence and project delivery. You will work closely with the firm’s principals and senior leadership in both Vancouver & Montreal to drive projects forward, ensuring high-quality outcomes that align with client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead commercial, office, and industrial projects from concept through completion, ensuring high standards of design and execution.

• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.

• Act as the primary client contact, building and maintaining strong relationships.

• Oversee the preparation and review of architectural drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies to facilitate seamless project execution.

• Mentor and guide junior architects and technologists, fostering professional growth and maintaining a high-performing team.

• Identify and mitigate project risks proactively, ensuring smooth project flow.

• Represent the firm at industry events, client meetings, and networking opportunities, reinforcing their reputation as a trusted architectural partner.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or a related field.

• Architect AIBC (or eligibility for registration in BC) required.

• 8+ years of experience in architectural project management, with a portfolio including commercial and industrial projects.

• Strong ability to lead and manage project teams, ensuring high-quality design and delivery.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and client relationship management skills.

• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and project management tools such as Microsoft Project.

• Strong knowledge of the BC Building Code (BCBC) and Vancouver Building Bylaw (VBBL).

• Experience working through all project phases, from design development to construction administration.
