Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a full-time Intern Architect with at least 4 years of post-graduate experience in a local architecture firm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing drawing submissions, building permits, and other construction administration tasks
- Contribute to the creation of construction drawings and specifications
- Engage in meetings with clients, consultants, and leadership
- Develop 3D renderings for project presentations
- Support re-zoning applications and assist with presentations and responses to municipal design panels and councils
- Participate in conceptual design work and help develop preliminary plans
- Perform or coordinate space planning studies, including programming documents, area calculations, and code reviews
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of post-graduate experience, preferably local
- Architecture degree from an accredited institution
- Proficiency in design and 3D modeling, including Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp
- Experience with DD & CD documentation for multifamily, mid-rise wood frame projects in BC
- Knowledge of sustainable design principles, including LEED, BC Energy Step Code, BC Building Code, and local bylaws
- Registered Intern or eligible for registration with AIBC
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Keen interest in BIM
