Role Overview
Our client is seeking a talented Intermediate Architect to join their team and contribute to delivering innovative and complex projects. As an integral part of the project team, you will lead and contribute to key stages of the design and construction process, ensuring the delivery of high-quality architectural solutions. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, interact with clients, and coordinate with consultants and stakeholders to execute projects that exemplify excellence in design and technical delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design Development: Translate conceptual designs into cohesive design development documents, ensuring alignment with the client’s vision and project goals.
  • Technical Documentation: Prepare detailed construction drawings, specifications, and building permit applications, with a focus on accuracy and constructability.
  • Construction Administration: Oversee contract administration tasks, including site reviews, RFIs, submittals, and issuing site instructions.
  • Collaboration & Leadership: Provide technical guidance to junior staff and coordinate with project teams, consultants, and contractors to achieve project objectives.
  • Project Management: Manage work plans, budgets, and schedules to ensure timely project delivery, proactively addressing challenges.
  • Client and Stakeholder Coordination: Act as a key point of contact for clients, consultants, and municipal officials to ensure smooth communication and compliance with local regulations.
  • Code and Bylaw Compliance: Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of local building codes, zoning, and bylaws, ensuring all projects meet regulatory requirements.
  • Innovation in Construction: Integrate knowledge of building materials, systems, and technologies to deliver efficient and sustainable design solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
  • 4-8 years of professional experience, with a robust portfolio demonstrating excellence in both design and technical detailing.
  • Proficiency in Revit, with working knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, and rendering tools (Lumion, 3ds Max, etc.) as assets.
  • Expertise in construction detailing, documentation, and specifications.
  • Proven experience in construction administration, including resolving on-site challenges.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate and deliver complex projects.
  • Solid knowledge of local building codes, bylaws, and permitting processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration across teams.
