We are currently looking for a breakfast/prep cook
  
Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties listed represent most of the functions of the cook, however, are not limited to the following:
 
  • Prepare and cook breakfast for staff and guests – both buffet and plated 
  • Prepare and cook lunch for staff and guests. Buffet and off the menu to order 
  • Omelet station in the dining room occasionally
  • Ensure creative and different breakfast and lunch options each day 
  • Daily baking (bread, cookies, muffins, pastries, desserts etc.) 
  • Dinner prep, as instructed by Chef 
  • Preparing shore lunch trays, load up trays and arrival trays
  • Prepare and cook special meals for guests as instructed by the Head Chef
  • Work within planned forecast in regard to food portions, food requirements and costs, and minimize waste and spoilage
  • Assist Head Chef with menu planning and special events
  • Ensure that all areas of the kitchen are clean and sanitized according to Health regulations
  • Assist Head Chef with inventory and control procedures
 
Qualifications:
 Previous breakfast experience 
  • Ability to multi-task, manage multiple priorities and succeed in a high-pressured environment
  • Knowledge of WHMIS, first aid, health and safety standards and maintain those standards at all times  
  • Work well independently as well as part of a team 
  • Able to resolve problems, handle conflict and make effective decisions under pressure 
  • Must be able to lift/carry 50+ lbs and stand/walk for extended periods
  • Must be able to work in an environment that produces exposure to heat, steam, cleaning chemicals and solvents and practice appropriate safety protocol
  • Must present a clean and professional appearance at all times            
  • Must be punctual and reliable for early morning shifts 
 
The candidate must be willing to relocate for the summer. Must have  previous cooking experience, and must possess knowledge of Health Regulations in regards to Food Service.  A Food Safe Level 1 Certificate would be an asset.  This position runs May – October.
