This is an excellent opportunity for a junior Plant Engineer to join a progressive and dynamic company. The Plant Engineer will solid-line report to the Plant Manager, they will implement innovative engineering solutions for operations and maintenance including coordinate plant personnel to resolve problems, and provide technical support. The Plant Engineer will also dotted-line report to Corporate Engineering to support other initiatives - on-site & corporate - capital project design, planning, execution; and optimize maintenance practices to ensure safe, reliable operations and lowest total life cycle costs in accordance with industry accepted engineering practices, governing regulations, and company policy & procedures. Projects will commonly involve external contact with engineering firms, vendors and sales / service personnel to discuss new implementation or modifications to existing equipment.

Good Plant Engineer candidates will likely come from a more junior / EIT level with some solid plant engineering experience either with "single on-site engineer" or you want that status, some power generation plant or turbine maintenance engineering experience would be an asset but not essential.
The ideal candidate for the Plant Engineer role will likely have many of the following attributes:
  • Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering with an P.Eng, EIT or eligible - mechanical preferred however other disciplines considered if accompanied with some solid rotation equipment operation & maintenance experience;
  • 3 to 6 years years progressive plant engineering experience with some solid plant operations, maintenance & trouble-shooting / RCA experience;
  • Some power plant &/or gas turbine experience would be an asset but not essential;
  • Some PM experience working on projects from inception to completion would be an asset;
  • Good communication skills - verbal & written along with some good software application skills ie, MS Project, Excel, Access & AutoCAD, SCADA / DCS;
  • SCADA experience would be definite asset;
  • Familiar with safety standards, codes, bylaws & regulations applicable to the industry.
