Due to continued growth of their business, my client is looking to add a Business Development Manager who will focus on developing the Property Management portfolio for their business in both Canada and into the US. This is a unique opportunity to join this company as they are preparing for an enormous period of growth and already hold a majority share of the new builder market within their focused product category. They have always been known for their strong reputation in the wider building materials industry and have excellent employee retention.

The role of Business Development Manager is to drive the Property Management portfolio forward by developing new relationships with clients across Canada and into the US.  This is a heavy "hunter" position and requires a self-motivated and passionate individual to take the lead and be the expert in this area. Being a team player is very important as this group has been extremely successful because they have extremely supportive relationships with their peers, superiors and work to get the job done and put their customers first. This is not a job for a "lone wolf".  

What the job entails;
  • Sell products to achieve sales budgets and identify new/prospective clients
  • Support team efforts and Territory Managers and work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve results and satisfy clients throughout the relationship building and maintaining process
  • Develop strong and profitable relationships with clients
  • Resource, research and develop new clients and relationships in the Property Management sector to develop further
  • Ensure excellent levels of customer service and transparency
  • Engage with the wider market to understand competitive products, services and pricing
  • Present to Developers, Property Managers, Designers and General Contractors
  • Attend, host and participate in industry and organizational events
What you bring to the table;
  • B.Degree/Post Secondary Education - Business, Economics, Design an asset
  • 5+ years' sales experience with B2B business development
  • Direct experience within the flooring, building materials, A&D or Property Management industries
  • Excellent skill set at setting targets, goals and sales quotas within the industry 
  • Self motivated, strong work ethic and driven skill set with passion and knowledge of the building materials industry
  • "Hunter" mentality with a keen drive for developing new business and maintaining relationships
  • Ability to travel up to 50% 
Previous experience selling building materials to Builders, GC's, Specifiers or End Users is necessary to be considered for this role.
