We have partnered with our client, an industry leader in interior commercial renovations to find a Construction Manager who will be responsible for the success of a multimillion dollar project portfolio.  Headquartered in Mississauga with a thriving regional office in Calgary, our client offers a progressive work environment, a competitive compensation package and the opportunity to lead an integrated team of construction professionals.

The Construction Manager heading up the western division of operations will lead the management process to ensure that all projects are delivered to meet or exceed client expectations.  They will be responsible for managing and developing client relationships and will effectively represent the company.  Working closely with the ownership group, the Construction Manager will establish and manage the direction of business development in the Calgary region and will work in conjunction with Human Resources to build an effective team. 

A selection of construction management responsibilities includes the following:
  • Manage all aspects of construction including budget, schedule, scope, and quality for all projects in the Calgary office
  • Provide guidance and oversight with regards to project feasibility and resources
  • Manage building codes and regulations to ensure project compliance and quality
  • Coordinate and manage communications between the project teams and subcontractors and suppliers
  • Identify and monitor capital expenses for all projects
  • Communicate with owners and consultants in order to develop and enhance positive working relationships
  • Stay current with industry trends and developments to ensure long-term success
Required qualifications for this role includes:
  • A university degree in a construction or business related discipline
  • 10 or more years of progressive experience in the ICI sector 
  • PMP designation
  • An entrepreneurial and client-focused mindset
  • The ability to take initiative and independently make sound decisions
  • Very strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage and influence a dynamic construction team
