Purpose of the position 

Within the scope of the contract, the project leader is mandated to outsource some in-house manufacturing to external suppliers (or to replace external suppliers) to achieve the targeted margin for the business. To do this, he / she must lead the project procurement team to carry out assigned tasks on time, on budget, and on scope, without compromising the quality required. It must initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and complete projects at all stages of the procurement and product life cycle.
He will also lead the project and will have to deal with the unique challenge of proactive management to ensure that the functions respect the budget allocated to them and their deadlines, and fulfill their obligations. It must maintain an overview of the project, including areas outside its own division, and overall impact on the companies performance. The project manager must use key project management processes and relevant implementation tools and ensure absolute compliance with processes and effective use of tools.
He/she must ensure that he/she has financial and reporting authority to mitigate risks and take advantage of opportunities.

Key Responsibilities 
Functional responsibilities

• Coordinate strategic resource allocation projects by planning the budget and schedule of projects until they are implemented.
• Manage cross-functional activities with the Engineering, Methods, Planning, Site Procurement, Finance and Contracts teams, as well as with the Contract Manager.
• Manage vendor technical requirements (transition, technical change obsolescence) that target parts.
• Support supplier technical development and encourage suppliers to take action to obtain compliant products.
• Collaborate with the Engineering and Methods teams during the tendering stages and the production of the experimental models.
• Collaborate with commodity buyers at the tendering and placing of purchase order (PO) stages.
• Coordinate, with the Planning team, production shutdowns and the arrival of parts manufactured by subcontractors so that the transition from internal production to external production is carried out in an impeccable way.
• Obtain key performance indicators for all ongoing activities and prepare related reports. 

Management responsibilities

• Define and obtain support from business partners and the extended outsourcing team. Influencing other functions within the business to support the realization of projects.
• Lead commodity buyers during the tendering and placement of purchase orders, and monitor vendor activities.
• Adapt leadership and motivation methods based on the scope of the project, the abilities and skills of team members and other stakeholders, the time and tools available, and the desired outcome. Create strategies to improve the effectiveness of the team and ensure that members of their group understand and believe that "no one is as strong as a whole team" to help them succeed in the model steps team development: "training, turbulence, standardization and performance".

Strategic Responsibilities

• Ensure all work done is part of a business process. If this is not the case, it must define the work in question and present or propose a standardized process for governing it.
• Participate in the development of a business process for outsourcing.
• Support price reduction targets for supply chain commodities, capacity and target margins.

Qualifications and functional knowledge

Bachelor of Engineering
• Project Management Certification (non-essential)

Relevant experience required (directly related to position or role requirements)

• At least 5 years experience after graduation
• At least 2 years experience in a management position
• Recognized leadership qualities (eg, PGP, 360 ° Feedback)
• International work experience
• Management of many B level projects (see definition of B projects)
• Experience in project management in collaboration with external suppliers

Specialized or cross-functional knowledge / relevant experience required for this position or role
• Cross-functional experience (Submissions, Sales, Contracts and Legal Affairs, Procurement, Engineering or Operations);
