Bilingual Human Resources Business Partner - Contract

Our client, located in Mississauga, is currently seeking a Human Resources Business Partner. Reporting to the CFO, the HRBP will coordinate and implement human resources activities for their assigned Client Groups. The HRPB will lead managers, supervisors, and employees with the execution of HR programs, policies, and procedures to enhance the work environment, minimize risk, and achieve business results. They will proactively translate the departments’ business strategies into HR solutions that best enable the teams to meet their departmental objectives.
Position Responsibilities: 
  • Provide HR partnership and day-to-day HR support for assigned client groups. 
  • Partner with managers to retain, develop, and motivate people to achieve their fullest potential.
  • Provide ongoing support to the managers on human resources related matters, policies, and procedures. 
  • Protects interests of employees and the company in accordance with company policies and governmental laws and regulations. Reviews employee disciplinary process and terminations.
  • Provides guidance on performance management issues through coaching and training of managers.
  • Employee Relations: Counseling employees and providing support to managers concerning work related issues, effectively handling all employee relations issues in assigned business groups by applying HR best practices for performance management and mitigating potential risk. 
  • Conducts employee investigations and makes appropriate recommendations.
  • Interprets HR policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates new hire orientation and onboarding process.
  • Oversees and handles the roll-out/implementation of business and company-wide initiatives, including communication, learning materials and training; facilitating workshops and training. 
  • Manages recruiting activities from candidate sourcing, initial screening, interview scheduling, follow-up, background checks, and coordinating offers. Works with Recruiting Specialist as needed.
  • Reviewing talent opportunities and performance gaps; participating in talent planning, talent reviews, talent development, and succession planning for assigned business groups. 
  • Partnering with other HR specialty functions (compensation, benefits, payroll, etc.) acting as a point of contact and liaison with clients to deliver full HR services. 
  • Primary interface for coordinating medical leaves and administrative processes.
  • Handle workers’ compensation claims from initial reporting to claims management. Coordinate return to work effort between HR, employee, hiring manager, and workers’ compensation insurance carrier.
  • Conducts employee surveys to review for trends and makes recommendations to management.
Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or business-related field
  • 5 years Human Resources experience
  • HR Certification is preferred
  • Strong understanding and application of labour laws including Leave of Absence
  • Effective influencing, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
  • Solid Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) computer skills
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Ability to work with all levels of employees
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
