Our client is a well established building materials manufacturer with a solid reputation for quality and service. As a pioneer in their industry they currently have a dominant position in the market and are well positioned for continued growth in Western Canada. 
The organization is looking for a Regional Sales Manager to lead a team and grow the business throughout the Region. 
Reporting to the National Sales Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for representing the business’s interests in Western Canada.

Responsibilities will include;
  • Collaborating in determining the territory’s sales and profitability objectives and recommending and establishing strategies to attain them.
  • Collaborating in establishing the territory’s operating budget and ensuring its control;
  • Hire, train and manage a direct sales force and to develop channel strategies to complement existing sales structure;
  • Identifying key trade shows and industry events and act as the key representative for the organization;
  • Advise the organization on product, pricing and promotion trends in Western Canada;
  • Report periodically the activity, results and planning initiatives for the region.
  • Work in collaboration with peers across the country to represent the organization effectively on national basis. 
  • 5-10 years of experience in the building materials industry. 
  • Proven track record of leading teams and working autonomously;
  • Experience working directly with Channel Partners and direct sales personnel. 
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout Western Canada;
  • Attend trade shows and industry events;
  • Demonstrable experience building and executing strategic plans.
  • Full Profit and Loss responsibility for the region.
  • Knowledge of the key clients in Western Canada’s building materials industry;
  • Honesty and integrity;
  • Professional communication skills both internally and externally.
  • Flexible and willing to adjust to the demands of the role
