Summary
Our client, an industry leader, with branches across Canada, is currently seeking a Sales Manager to join their team. The Sales Manager will be responsible for increasing market presence/share through the implementation of effective sales strategies in the Ottawa/Gatineau region. The Sales Manager will also train sales staff and work with Regional Managers to solicit new accounts.
 
Responsibilities
  • Develop and recommend sales strategies, marketing objectives, including sales volume and profit forecasts for the banner
  • Develop methods to test the sales effectiveness of product lines and account management practices in the field recommending improvements or changes
  • Review and audit the sales strategy of the banner through ongoing comprehensive evaluation of sales practices in the general marketplace
  • Examine sales and marketing opportunity to increase value-added approaches and develop client base opportunities to further increase market presence and market share
  • Evaluate and identify needs for sales training programs to reflect changes in sales requirements and develop related skills sets
  • Determine areas for training based on changes in market, product, pricing and customer requirements
  • Provide leadership and strategic initiatives to key accounts to further develop the company’s position and offerings to clients 
  • Solicit accounts in conjunction with the Regional Managers to increase margins and volume of business
 
Requirements
  • Must be fluently bilingual in French & English 
  • University degree or College diploma plus a minimum of ten (10) years related experience in the industry, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong business acumen to analyze financial reports and to develop appropriate implementation strategies to meet/exceed operational/fiscal plans and targets
  • Experience in the Ottawa / Gatineau market
  • Ability to build strategic partnerships and identify potential sales opportunities
  • Strong time management, organizational and planning skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lead, mentor and coach staff  
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to make difficult decisions
