This is a fantastic opportunity, working with a very large player in the builder industry. Our client has built a strong name in the Building Materials industry and are looking for a candidate to help grow their logistics trucking division. The chosen candidate will have strong experience closing new business within trucking as well as very strong knowledge of operations to balance out the capabilities of the logistics division. 

Our Client is a Multi Billion dollar business with a sizable trucking division. The key purpose of the position would be to secure new business for the empty loads from each delivery point to optimize the usage of a mixed fleet of asset and non-asset based trucks. 

  • Proven track record of identifying and closing new business not specific to the builder industry. Builder Industry knowledge is an asset as this would help fill the trailers.
  • Strong understanding of logistics operations is key to help identify the relevant target clients. 
  • Strong understanding of Customs Documentation.
  • Must have experience working with/for 3PL carriers.
  • Consistently build pipeline to ensure targets are met.
  • Dig deep to find out the key customer needs to provide the best transportation solution.
  • Negotiate new contracts, as well as existing annual renewals.
  • Develop strong internal relationships to help resolve customer issues as they come up. Must be a team player. know your customer, know your team, know your plan of attack. 
Job Requirements 
  • Professional Sales experience in the Intermodal and trucking industry.
  • Industrial market knowledge and intelligence is required.
  • Experience in transportation, understanding of supply chain logistics environment.
  • Canadian & US Rail Industry knowledge considered an asset but not a must.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate leads and close sales.
  • Strong understanding of the buying process.
  • Strong understanding of negotiation process and ability to execute.
  • Knowledge of CRM software and processes.
  • Strong relationship building and communications capabilities.
