Sales Consultant – Commercial Glass & Glazing
Title: Sales Consultant

Location: Frederick, Maryland
Our client is a commercial window contractor specializing in the sales, consultation, design, and installation of pre-glazed fenestration systems. Their expertise spans curtain wall, storefront, and metal panel products for commercial projects across the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia regions. This position is responsible for planning and executing short- and long-term sales strategies to support the achievement of revenue objectives in total sales, product mix, and profit margins.
Primary Responsibilities
Take a comprehensive approach to the project lifecycle, understanding how sales and estimating impact each phase.
Maintain strong knowledge of industry products, including windows, curtain wall systems, storefronts, and metal panels—regularly updating knowledge with emerging technologies and innovations.
Present clients with a range of product options (“good, better, best”) tailored to their bid requests.
Develop and execute effective sales strategies aligned with company goals.
Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key personnel at customer accounts.
Collaborate with the Operations team to ensure proposed solutions are practical and executable in the field.
Cultivate a network of sources for sales leads, including engaging in cold calling when exploring new markets.
Identify customer needs through direct communication and recommend appropriate product/service solutions.
Demonstrate product utility and benefits tailored to customer requirements.
Maintain customer satisfaction through consistent communication and relationship management; address any post-sale concerns.
Keep clients informed about new products, services, and system enhancements.
Remain engaged through the submittal process, ensuring shop drawings and submittals are fully approved.
Keep accurate records of sales activity, including calls, leads, orders, and client/vendor relationship updates.
Provide regular sales forecasts for assigned territories.
Conduct market research to identify potential customers and opportunities.
Deliver timely and effective solutions that meet client needs.
Stay informed on new product launches and ensure alignment across the sales team.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, Business, or a related field, OR at least five years of relevant experience.
Proven success in window sales.
Strong understanding of the window industry.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Analytical mindset with the ability to draw conclusions from data.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Compensation
Base Salary $100,000 - $110,000 plus uncapped commissions
