Our client, a well-established law firm in Mississauga is seeking a Corporate Law Clerk with at least 3 years of law firm experience. This role requires a detail-oriented, organized professional with strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
About the Role:
The Corporate Law Clerk will support lawyers with various legal and administrative tasks, including corporate transactions, filings, and due diligence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file corporate documents for incorporations, amendments, mergers, dissolutions, and other transactions.
- Conduct corporate reviews and due diligence, drafting necessary rectification materials.
- Create corporate structure charts and prepare transaction-related documentation.
- Maintain and update corporate records, including minute books and annual filings.
- Process registrations, amendments, and renewals for business names and partnerships.
- Assist lawyers with corporate compliance, searches, and filings.
- Mentor junior clerks and contribute to training initiatives within the firm.
Qualifications:
- Minimum three years of corporate law experience in a law firm.
- Law Clerk certification and membership with the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario.
- Strong knowledge of corporate statutes and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
- Proficiency in corporate software, including Appara.
