Job Title: Electrical Designer/Engineer
Location: Calgary, AB
Salary: $70,000+ (Based on Experience)
 
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Designer/Engineer to join our team in Calgary. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about electrical design in the building consulting industry, with experience and a focus on commercial, institutional, and residential projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and reviewing electrical systems, ensuring they meet client needs and industry standards.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop electrical systems for various building projects, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and communication systems.
• Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and reports using Revit, AutoCAD, and other relevant design software.
• Perform electrical load calculations, voltage drop analysis, and short-circuit studies.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards, including the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and local building regulations.
• Coordinate with mechanical, structural, and architectural teams to integrate electrical systems seamlessly.
• Conduct site visits for assessments, inspections, and troubleshooting.
• Provide technical support during construction, including responding to RFIs and reviewing shop drawings.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a Diploma in Electrical Design/Technology.
• 3+ years of experience in electrical design for buildings within a consulting environment.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam
• Strong understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code and local regulations.
• Experience with lighting, power distribution, life safety, and communication systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• E.I.T.'s, P.Eng. or CET designation
