Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator

Salary: $60-70K 

Our well-established client has 30+ years of experience manufacturing and distributing high quality architectural aluminum products from commercial entrance, vent, casement, to basic curtain wall needs. They are currently seeking a Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator to join their team.

Job Summary:
The Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator is responsible for managing procurement activities, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and ensuring efficient supply chain operations within the manufacturing company. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to meet production demands.
Department: Supply Chain/Procurement  
This role reports to the Purchasing Manager/Operations Manager

Key Responsibilities:
•    Procurement Management: Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to procure raw materials, components, and supplies needed for manufacturing operations.
•    Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels, track stock movements, and ensure accurate record-keeping to prevent shortages or excess stock.
•    Supplier Coordination: Maintain relationships with vendors, resolve supply issues, and ensure timely deliveries that align with production schedules.
•    Purchase Order Processing: Create and process purchase orders, verify order confirmations, and reconcile discrepancies in pricing or quantities.
•    Cost Management: Identify cost-saving opportunities, analyze pricing trends, and assist in budget management for procurement activities.
•    Compliance & Documentation: Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and quality standards. Maintain accurate procurement records and inventory documentation.
•    Collaboration: Work closely with production, warehouse, and finance teams to optimize inventory flow and support operational efficiency.
•    Reporting & Analysis: Generate reports on inventory status, procurement activities, and supplier performance to support decision-making.


Qualifications & Requirements:
•    Post secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
•    2+ years of experience in purchasing, inventory management, or supply chain operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Window and door experience an asset.
•    Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems.
•    Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•    Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
•    Knowledge of procurement best practices, supply chain logistics, and cost control strategies.

Work Environment:
•    Office setting within a manufacturing facility.
•    Interaction with suppliers, warehouse staff, and production teams.
•    Occasional travel to vendor sites or industry events may be required.
