Role Overview
As an Assistant Project Manager, you will work closely with the Project Manager to ensure the successful execution of commercial electrical projects. Your role will involve coordinating schedules, managing budgets, tracking project progress, and facilitating communication between teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders. You will also assist in estimating costs, handling documentation, and resolving project-related challenges to keep everything running smoothly and on budget.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in estimating project scope, costs, and budgets.
  • Oversee subcontractors and ensure project milestones are met.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and reports.
  • Track project expenses to ensure cost control and budget compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and subcontractors.
  • Attend and actively participate in coordination meetings.
  • Assist with change requests, submittals, and RFIs.
  • Identify and resolve design conflicts, interferences, and documentation discrepancies.
  • Monitor fieldwork to ensure compliance with industry standards and company protocols.
  • Support billing, collections, and financial tracking of projects.

What We’re Looking For

Required:
 
  • 2+ years of experience as an Assistant Project Manager in commercial electrical construction.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new systems and technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Effective at scheduling, delegation, and time management.

Preferred:
  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  •  Journeyman or Master Electrician’s license, certifications, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical drawings and specifications.
  •  Familiarity with estimating software and processes.
  • Knowledge of billing and collections in construction projects.
