Their Calgary office is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Project Manager to lead complex and high-impact projects in commercial, mixed-use, and institutional buildings.

The Role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will take ownership of mechanical design, project execution, and technical leadership across a variety of large-scale and intricate building developments. From concept to completion, you will drive cutting-edge mechanical solutions, ensuring superior quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engineer Innovative Solutions – Evaluate client design proposals and develop cost-effective, high-performance mechanical systems.
- Lead & Inspire – Provide technical direction to clients, internal teams, and external consultants, ensuring project excellence.
- Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration – Work closely with architects and various engineering disciplines to deliver seamless, future-forward building systems.
- Quality & Cost Control – Oversee design accuracy, budgeting, and project scheduling to keep deliverables on track.
- Sustainable Design & Compliance – Ensure ASHRAE, LEED, and local building code standards are met, integrating sustainability wherever possible.
- Project Lifecycle Management – Guide projects from initial concepts to successful construction completion, optimizing designs along the way.
- Hands-On Field Involvement – Participate in site visits and construction reviews, ensuring flawless execution.
- Knowledge Leadership – Stay at the forefront of industry innovations, emerging technologies, and best practices.
- Mentorship & Peer Reviews – Support junior engineers and conduct rigorous design reviews to uphold technical excellence.
What You Bring
- Registered Engineer (P.Eng) or EIT with APEGA.
- 9+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 2 years in North America (must have buildings engineering expertise).
- Deep knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems within commercial and institutional buildings.
- Mastery of Canadian building codes and high-performance design principles.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with BIM and Revit is a plus.
- Outstanding project management skills, with the ability to lead multiple projects efficiently.
- Exceptional communication and client engagement abilities.
- Proven track record of innovation, leadership, and technical problem-solving.
- Experience in oil & gas or heavy industrial sectors is not applicable for this role.
