We are looking for a Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst to join our well-established Canadian manufacturing client. The ideal candidate will use their strong finance skills and business knowledge to work with key teams and provide insights into financial results. This role requires collaboration with finance, operations, and senior management to drive performance improvements. You should be detail-oriented, independent, and able to build relationships at all levels.
Responsibilities:
- Develop budgets and forecasts based on financial analysis, addressing accounting-related issues.
- Review business submissions, challenge assumptions, and improve forecast accuracy.
- Analyze and provide commentary on monthly results compared to budget and forecast.
- Create and manage performance dashboards with key operational metrics/KPIs.
- Collaborate across departments to meet financial and reporting requirements, ensuring compliance with corporate standards and policies.
- Provide commentary and analysis on monthly results vs. budget and forecast monthly and quarterly.
- Support financial models, business cases, reporting improvements, and other initiatives.
- Work on special projects, gathering information and proposing solutions.
Requirements:
- CPA (or working towards) is considered an asset.
- 3-5 years of progressive financial and accounting experience.
- Experience in construction or telecom is an asset.
- Advanced skills in Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, interact confidently with senior leadership, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience engaging both business and finance leaders.
