Position: Commercial Drywall Estimator
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: 8-hour shifts
Location: In-person role based in Sarasota, FL.
Compensation: $80 000-$90 000 with bonus opportunities and performance incentives.
A leading construction company in Sarasota, FL, is seeking an experienced Commercial Drywall Estimator to join their Pre-Construction team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with a background in construction estimating and a passion for accuracy and excellence. Primary Responsibilities
- Interpret plans and specifications to prepare detailed and accurate bid proposals.
- Research and maintain knowledge of local material, labor, and equipment costs.
- Stay updated on local, city, and state building codes in assigned regions.
- Manage and mentor project engineers and assistant estimators to support their professional growth.
- Continuously develop expertise across all product lines, including drywall, acoustical, Division 8 (doors, frames, hardware), and Division 10 (specialties).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, architecture, finance, or accounting preferred.
- Assistant Estimator with 2 years of experience or 5-7 years of overall experience in construction estimating.
- Proficiency in estimating software, including On-Screen Takeoff, preferred.
- Strong knowledge of commercial drywall and construction processes.
- Self-motivated with a commitment to personal and professional excellence.
- Ability to produce results in a high-pressure environment.
- Must pass a criminal background check and sign a Confidentiality, Non-Disclosure, and Non-Solicitation Agreement.
