Job Description
- Continuously monitor project budget and forecasting to the individual phase code level and cost type for potential gains and losses
- Provide leadership and direction for all project activities and tasks, ensuring project outcomes are delivered successfully and in compliance with all contracts and client needs providing onsite resource coordination.
- Providing construction professionalism by ensuring clear communication of project-specific roles and responsibilities for all site personnel. Provide regular and respectful feedback for all under your direction
- Equipment management – Monitor company equipment and supplies to ensure the needed equipment is where it’s required. Inspect tools and equipment and notify the Tools and Equipment Manager for service and repair as needed
- Daily Reporting to Project Manager
- Expedite the Construction Schedule
- Site Safety Assurance and WorkSafe Compliance
- Strong client relations & community relations
Qualifications
- Journeyman trade certification or equivalent experience. Technical diploma and/or Gold Seal certification are considered assets
- 7+ years experience in commercial construction for a large general contractor
- 7+ years experience as a superintendent for a large general contractor
- Experience with multi-family construction
- Strong working knowledge of current construction methods, drawings, specifications, and building codes
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of employment and other designated information
- Self-motivated, creative thinking, organized, and efficiency
- Excellent Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively manage time, responsibilities, and priorities
- Demonstrated interpersonal, leadership, and team-building skills
- Level 1 (minimum) First Aid certification and knowledge of (WHMIS) Systems
- Budgeting and estimating skills (computer word processing and spreadsheet programs an asset)
- Proficient with computers, multi functional processing units, telephones and faxes
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and skills in data entry
- Valid driver's license
