About the role:
The Residential Property Accountant will be responsible for organizing the full accounting cycle for a portfolio of real estate properties. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Responsibilities would include:
- Prepare full cycle accounting for a portfolio of 12-15 condominium buildings, including shared facilities.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements and supporting schedules.
- Month-end journal entries, bank reconciliation, AP, AR, prepare and reconcile recoveries
- Oversee A/R and A/P including review cash requirement reports and reconcile tenant statements. Monitor banking deposits and daily balances.
- Process owner changes and EFT transfers for common element fees.
- Monitor operational expenses monthly by performing variance analysis
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience
- Experience with Yardi Voyageur S7 would be considered an asset
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Capable of prioritizing work to meet operational timelines with excellent attention to detail
- Self-motivated, results oriented, flexible and team player
