Our Client is an expert in providing senior level procurement services to heavy industry across the globe. They’re seeking a smart Category Business Development Manager to offer their consultative service model to large enterprise clients in Canada. This is a dynamic role that would be a fit for someone who excels at building relationships and has a keen understanding of business analysis. Prior experience in business consulting or large enterprise sales would be ideal.
The Role:
- Identify, evaluate, and engage with vendors to meet the needs of the organization’s clients.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and organizational strategies.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure favorable outcomes for clients.
- Develop and maintain a robust vendor base, ensuring continuous supply of quality products and services.
- Foster strong relationships with key vendors to ensure long-term partnerships and favorable terms.
- Monitor vendor performance and address any issues related to quality, delivery, or service levels.
- Collaborate with vendors to implement continuous improvement initiatives and innovation.
- Act as a liaison between clients and vendor, ensuring alignment of customer needs with vendor capabilities.
- Provide service support to clients, including recommendations on strategies
- Communicate regularly with clients to understand their requirements and address any concerns.
- Oversee the development, execution, and management of service contracts.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions, including pricing, delivery schedules, and quality standards.
- Work with legal and finance teams to manage contract risks and ensure alignment with organizational policies.
- Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and potential risks.

The Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in enterprise sales, organizational consulting or supply chain management, preferably in heavy industry, Mining, Oil & Gas, or SaaS.
- Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of successful contract management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and members.
- Proficient in Procurement/Sales software and tools, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Track and report on key metrics, including cost savings, Vendor performance, and Client satisfaction.
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and potential risks.
- Ability to Travel locally and internationally as needed
- Ability to work remotely – This role can be based Salt Lake City, other locations across Utah & Nevada will be considered as well.
