Safety Manager - Make an Impact on Safety in Virginia Beach, VA 
 

Salary: $75,000- $90,000 + Bonus
Location: Virginia Beach, VA  - Initially training provided in Laurel, MD

 Are you ready to take charge of safety in their new Virginia Beach, VA location?

 
Our client, an expanding commercial roofing company, is in search of a Safety Manager to lead safety efforts at their new Virginia Beach, VA office. We seek a safety-oriented individual dedicated to ensuring workplace safety. The successful candidate will embrace the exciting challenge and be prepared to travel to Laurel, MD for training. During training, accommodation and living expenses will be provided.
 
Relocation assistance can be provided to candidates willing to relocate to Virginia Beach, VA permanently.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in implementing comprehensive safety programs, including practices related to job site safety, fall protection, and hazard communication.
• Facilitate group safety training sessions and conduct thorough inspections of projects to ensure safety compliance.
• Collaborate in the development of Site Specific Safety Plans and Activity Hazard Analyses.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety standards governed by OSHA, federal, state, and local regulations.
• Assist in creating and delivering safety training programs to educate employees on safe work practices.
• Actively identify safety issues and contribute to policy development and personnel training.
• Maintain safety compliance while working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Suppliers.
• Conduct safety orientations for all employees and oversee the formation of a local branch safety committee.
• Provide support in the event of OSHA agency-level audits and address hazardous situations independently.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field preferred, or 5+ years of field experience.
• 3 years of experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs.
• Extensive knowledge of Fall Protection and working at heights.
• Strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications and Adobe Acrobat.
• Proficiency in Procore is preferred.
• Must hold a valid driver's license and maintain a clean motor vehicle record.
• Ability to climb a ladder and lift 15 pounds at a time.

Preferred Certifications: ( or willing to obtain)

• OSHA 30-hour in Construction 1926.
• OSHA 500 certification.
• EM 385 certification.
• Fall Protection Trainer Certified.
• Recognized BCSP certification preferred.
