Director - Data & AI

Location: Toronto , Ontario (hybrid)
Compensation : CAD $180,000 - CAD $200,000
 

Core Responsibilities:

Internal Management

  • Offer strategic advice on developing and implementing an AI strategy, working in close cooperation with internal teams and clients to pinpoint innovative opportunities.
  • Work alongside the VP and team members to craft and roll out marketing strategies aimed at attracting potential clients and boosting business expansion.
  • Coordinate with the Business Development and Delivery teams to strategize on uncovering and pursuing new revenue streams.
  • Draft detailed budgets for the division that mirror and support the company's strategic objectives, including revenue and expenditure projections.
  • Keep an eye on the Profit & Loss statements to maintain fiscal stability, focusing on revenue enhancement and expense control. Address any discrepancies with prompt corrective measures.
  • Organize and present Quarterly Business Reviews, as well as govern internal and external stakeholder meetings.
  • Manage cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless introduction of new client projects, program improvements, and service expansions.
  • Advise on the efficient allocation and utilization of resources to maximize internal strengths presently and in the future.
  • Mentor and inspire team members, promoting a culture of ongoing learning and career development in the AI landscape.
  • Stay informed about technological breakthroughs and market trends relevant to the Data & AI sector.
  • Ensure the successful execution of Data & AI projects for clients, aligning with their strategic goals and delivering tangible benefits.

Client Engagement & Project Delivery

  • Establish and nurture robust client relationships, acting as a reliable consultant to enhance client satisfaction, retention, and account growth.
  • Position yourself as a Data and AI advocate, persuading key decision-makers and influencers in client organizations of the value of our Data & AI vision and strategy.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for executive-level issues, ensuring they are managed and communicated effectively.
  • Facilitate tailored AI strategy workshops and training for clients, empowering them to utilize data insights and AI technologies to their full potential.
  • Advise clients on AI governance, best practices, and risk management to guarantee the successful deployment of Data/AI solutions.
  • Lead the charge in ethical data and AI usage, emphasizing bias reduction, fairness, transparency, and privacy to build trust with clients and their stakeholders.
  • Regularly evaluate the performance of Data/AI projects for clients, pinpointing areas for improvement and scalability to enhance value continuously.
  • Actively oversee ongoing projects, addressing any misalignments between current initiatives, client expectations, and the changing landscape of the industry.
  • Identify and manage projects and programs at risk to prevent potential impacts on current or future business opportunities and achieve organizational objectives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Business Administration, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • At least 10 years of experience in project management, showcasing a successful track record in IT and transformation project delivery.
  • Proficiency in crafting project proposals, budgeting, and contributing throughout the project lifecycle from initiation to delivery.
  • Minimum of 7 years in an IT consultancy role, with a recent emphasis on AI and/or analytics highly regarded.
  • Solid grasp of Data & AI principles and technologies, and the skill to communicate their business impact.
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft technology ecosystem.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication abilities, capable of engaging and collaborating with various organizational levels.
  • Expertise in management consulting or professional services, including market entry strategy.
  • Proven experience in client engagement and business development, with a history of growing accounts and enhancing revenue.
  • Strong capability to forge and maintain productive relationships with clients and team members.
