Our client is a successful and well-established real estate property developer and property management company that manages a portfolio of commercial and retail units in the GTA and surrounding communities. They are looking to hire an Intermediate Accountant to join their growing team!
Responsibilities:
- Conduct full accounting cycle including AR, AP, bank reconciliation, financial reporting, journal entries posting.
- Prepare year-end financial statements and working papers for holding companies, land development and commercial construction projects.
- Perform analysis on various accounts when needed such as investments, incomes and expenses.
- Communicate and assist external accountant on year-end inquires and info needed.
- Preparation and submission of T2, T5018, T5013, Quebec tax returns and QST
- Prepare cash flow and budgeting reports and other reports as required.
- Communicate with CRA on general inquires, review, audit and other administrative tasks.
- Minimum 3 year of accounting experience in general accounting role
- University degree or College Diploma in accounting, ideal candidate pursuing CPA
- Experience in preparing working papers and financial reporting.
- Experience with Yardi, Case Ware, Excel and Microsoft Suite would be considered an asset.
- Previous experience in CA firm would be considered an asset as well as working experience of Newstars and Cantax
- Strong work ethic, very organized and self-motivated with a desire to learn and grow
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong reconciliation and analytical skills
