Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Shipping:
Accurately pick, stage, and prepare materials for outgoing shipments based on work orders and delivery schedules.
Securely load products onto trucks, ensuring safe transport and protection from damage.
Review and verify shipping documentation, such as Bills of Lading, packing slips, and manifests.
Liaise with carriers and drivers, providing clear instructions and necessary documentation.
Receiving:
Unload incoming shipments including doors, aluminum stock, hardware, and accessories.
Check materials for damage and accuracy against purchase orders.
Record receipts in inventory or ERP systems and properly label all items.
Notify the purchasing or production team of any discrepancies, shortages, or damaged goods.
Inventory & Warehouse Organization:
Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse, including storage areas for aluminum, frames, and finished goods.
Ensure correct stock rotation and labeling procedures are followed.
Support inventory audits and cycle counts as needed.
Collaborate with production, purchasing, and sales teams to ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and efficiently.
Equipment Operation & Safety:
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including the use of PPE and proper lifting techniques.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
1–2 years of experience in a shipping/receiving or warehouse role (experience with construction or manufacturing materials is an asset).
Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain one).
Comfortable interpreting purchase orders, packing slips, and other shipping documentation.
Basic computer skills; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing physical tasks throughout the shift.
Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
Working Conditions:
Exposure to noise from power tools and equipment (hearing protection provided).
Presence of dust and metal debris (PPE including gloves, masks, and eye protection may be required).
Variable temperatures depending on the season.
Regular physical activity including standing, lifting, bending, and repetitive movement.
