Based in Toronto, our Client is a well established window wall systems manufacturer that designs and installs for high rise developments. Their pre- construction and installation group is looking for a seasoned Senior Pre-Construction Project Manager for GTA projects.
About this Role
This position is responsible for managing projects and an assigned group of Pre-construction PM’s, the workflow and project performance as well as maintaining a safe working environment. The Senior Pre-Construction Project Manager must have extensive knowledge of project management standards, proper building practices, company manufacturing processes, and the process of organizational continuous improvement, focusing on increasing customer satisfaction, reducing waste, and eliminating variation in processes. This role will work closely with the Sales and Estimating team, the Manufacturing team and the installation teams to ensure the project is completed on time and on budget. The position must facilitate the maximization of resources (human and automated) to achieve customer satisfaction, productivity, and schedule adherence to goals.
Primary Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
• Manage PM's and Drafting teams
• Responsible to ensure that all Project Management process steps are completed to a high standard and drives continuous improvement of company processes as needed.
• Maintain positive control of all project plans, manage changes in schedule, highlight risks, performance, and manage Pre-Construction PM and Drafting teams to ensure high quality work, cross functional communication and enable on-time delivery of all projects.
• Regular reporting and communication on project status, and quality
• Maintain quality standards and compliancy to ensure workload is scheduled to meet objectives
• Work in accordance with service standards and project requirements as well as other regulatory and mandatory criteria (e.g. Safety, quality assurance, occupational health, & safety, local bylaw & codes, etc.)
• Provide leadership involving communication of requirements, expectations and project coordination and performance management
• Report consolidated project schedules in a timely manner and effectively communicate to all parties
• Ensure that all project are safe, and exercise due diligence with respect to quality of deliverables to internal and external customers
Qualifications:
Minimum of 6+ years experience as Project Manager (in aluminum industry is a plus)
• A degree in Project Management or related field
• Ability to read architectural drawings (Blueprints, Plan sets etc.)
• CPM, PMP or LEED AP Certifications are a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project)
•• Strong knowledge of construction and scheduling of external workforce
• Advanced time management and analytical skills
• Excellent client-facing communication skill
•• Strong interpersonal and communication skills - displaying appreciation of alternative points of view
• Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines, attentive to details and priorities
• Ability to truly thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic manufacturing environment
