Job Description

As a Site Superintendent, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Overseeing daily on-site operations, including the management of all construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Leading and coordinating site personnel, including subcontractors and trades, to ensure efficient workflow and high productivity.
  • Acting as the primary on-site point of contact for clients, consultants, inspectors, and other stakeholders, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
  • Ensuring project schedules are met by developing, maintaining, and adjusting construction timelines and milestones.
  • Monitoring and enforcing quality control, ensuring that all work adheres to project plans, specifications, and the highest quality standards.
  • Implementing and enforcing safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment for all site personnel.
  • Managing resources, including the timely delivery and efficient use of materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Keeping accurate daily logs and reports to document site activities, progress, and any issues that arise.
  • Resolving any on-site issues or conflicts promptly to minimize delays and ensure smooth project execution.
  • Ensuring compliance with all building codes, safety regulations, and contractual requirements.


  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Site Superintendent in the construction industry, particularly within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
  • Proven track record in managing renovation and addition projects, especially in institutional, healthcare, higher education, and government sectors.
  • Expertise in managing projects within occupied buildings, ensuring minimal disruption to occupants.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, methods, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and coordinate diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and tools. Experience with Procore or similar project management software is a plus.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and a strong commitment to enforcing them on-site.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documents accurately.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to various job sites as required.
  • First Aid and CPR certification is an asset.


  • Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000, dependent on experience.
