THE FIRM 
This is a reputable mid-sized firm design firm in the heart of Toronto: with an open collaborative work environment with easy access to senior leaders. They are known for design excellence in large scale condos; working with top tier property developers and architectural firms to develop and execute high-end luxury condos designs from concept design through construction stages on projects taking 5-7 years to complete. They provide systematic mentoring to all employees to ensure long-term success & professional development of their people & have many long-tenured employees.   

ROLE OVERVIEW 
The Senior Team Lead is responsible for the successful delivery of projects and reports to the Design Manager & Partners. They will be experienced managing multiple complex projects at a time; a natural problem solver that enjoys positively mentoring others.  

WHAT'S REQUIRED 
  • B.A.A. Bachelor of Applied Arts, or B.F.A. Bachelor in Fine Arts, focused on interior design; candidates with BCIN, NCIDQ, ARIDO, & LEED certification preferred    
  • 8+ years work experience, with a portfolio of complex condo projects reflecting designs of suites, lobbies & and common amenity areas; sets of working drawings in addition to renderings, with a high level of detailing including millwork, reflected ceilings, & staircases
  • Experience overseeing a team of intermediate and junior designers, and technologists; working with a BIM manager to maintain design standards and templates; the ability to bring out the best in others
  • Ability to lead concept design and development, working drawings; manage tendering and construction; and handle PM duties (meet client for SOW, schedule, and monitoring contracts (RFIs, SIs, COs) to alert client of additional charges if required 
  • Strong time management and OBC skills: the ability to anticipate and track time frames for various tasks; solve bottlenecks with various stakeholders  
  • Software: AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Xref (plans, elevations, architectural and millwork), MS Project (or other PM software), MS-suite; Revit an asset (will train); working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign & Sketchup
